ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING OF CPO SOUTHWEST LEADERS FOILED ALONG KABBA ROAD


The Coalition for Peter Obi (CPO) condemns in the strongest terms the attempted kidnapping of our Deputy Southwest Zonal Coordinator, Comr. Emmanuel O.O, alongside the Osun State Coordinator, Comr. Afolabi, which occurred today, Wednesday, 10th September 2025, at about 4:00 PM, along the Kabba road en route Abuja.


This brazen attack on our leaders, who were on their way for official engagements, underscores the worsening security situation in our country and the increasing vulnerability of citizens to the menace of armed kidnappers and criminal gangs. It is only by divine intervention and the swift response of alert citizens that our coordinators escaped this deadly ambush.


The CPO views this development as not only a criminal act but also a direct threat to the lives of patriotic Nigerians who have dedicated themselves to the service of democracy, good governance, and the rescue mission for our dear nation.


We call on the Federal Government, security agencies, and all relevant authorities to immediately launch a thorough investigation into this incident, bring the perpetrators to justice, and take urgent steps to secure our highways, particularly the Kabba–Abuja road, which has become notorious for criminal activities.


The safety of our leaders and members across the country remains paramount. We will not be cowed, we will not be silenced, and we will not relent in our pursuit of a better Nigeria built on justice, equity, and accountability.
