From Campaign Promise to Reality – Leadership That Empowers Youths and Women with Skills for Self-Reliance!


As a media man with Olamide Gudoo OnlineTv, I had the honour of being live on ground at the official commencement of the specialized training on bags and shoes making hosted by the dynamic Councillor of Ward E1, Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Banjoko Babatunde Oluwaseun (BBO), who also serves as the Majority Leader in the Ikorodu North Legislative House.


This is not just another skill acquisition programme. This is The New Deal Agenda that Hon. BBO boldly promised the good people of Ward E1 during his campaign — and today, he is delivering it with action!


The training, which will run for three full weeks, is designed to equip participants — especially youths and women — with practical, marketable skills in making quality bags and shoes. This initiative goes beyond learning a trade; it is about creating sustainable livelihoods, reducing unemployment, and empowering our people to become self-reliant entrepreneurs who can support their families and contribute to the growth of our community.


In an exclusive interview I had with Hon. BBO at the event, he opened up on what motivated him to organise this training. He revealed his deep passion and commitment to lifting the people of Ward E1 from survival mode to success mode through skill acquisition and genuine empowerment. According to him, true leadership is about providing opportunities that turn potentials into productivity.


This is the kind of responsive and result-oriented leadership that Ikorodu North deserves. While some only make promises, Hon. BBO is busy fulfilling them one impactful programme at a time.
