Olamide Gudoo OnlineTV was on ground to cover the press conference organized by the Ife Salako Campaign Organization in Alimosho, Lagos State.

“OUR MANDATE WAS STOLEN"

Addressing journalists, the campaign team alleged serious irregularities in the conduct of the NDC primary election for Alimosho Federal House of Assembly seat.

According to the speakers, Hon. Ife Salako scored 634 votes during the primary. However, they claim the party’s mandate was controversially awarded to another aspirant who reportedly scored only 6 votes.

The campaign used the press conference to send a direct appeal to the top leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

The message was directed to Mr. Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of NDC, Senator Rabiu Kwankwanso, the Vice Presidential Candidate, and the entire NDC National Leadership.

Their demand is clear: "If the NDC wants to win Alimosho Constituency, they must return Ife Salako’s mandate."

The team argued that sidelining a candidate with overwhelming support from the grassroots will affect the party’s chances in the 2027 general elections in the area.

During the briefing, the campaign organization made further revelations about Hon. Ife Salako’s commitment to the party in Alimosho:

1. Party Funding: It was revealed that Hon. Ife Salako is currently the one responsible for paying for the NDC office in Alimosho Constituency.

2. Sacrifice for Party: One of the speakers disclosed that during the last Lagos State Local Government elections, Hon. Ife Salako had to sell his personal car in order to purchase chairmanship forms for candidates under the NDC platform.

These revelations, according to the campaign, highlight the level of dedication and investment Hon. Salako has made toward building the NDC in Alimosho.

As of the time of this report, the NDC National Leadership is yet to officially respond to the allegations.

The Ife Salako Campaign Organization says they are waiting on the party to do the right thing and restore what they call "the will of the people" in Alimosho.
