ALIMOSHO SHOCKER: 5 Candidates + Party Bigwigs Could Not Pull The Crowd One Man Pulls From A Single Ward. Ife Salako's Single Ward Crowd Outshines 5 NDC Candidates Combined In Alimosho
Yesterday, 25 September, at the NDC Alimosho General Assembly, something very difficult to ignore happened.
With five candidates and several major leaders present; the senatorial candidate, House of Representatives candidate, the two House of Assembly candidates, the governorship candidate and other party leaders - the combined crowd around them did not appear to match the crowd that Hon. Ife Salako can pull from a single ward in Alimosho.
That is not an insult. It is a mobilisation reality that the party needs to look at seriously.
If Senator Seriaki Dickson is serious about building a strong structure in Alimosho, then grassroots mobilisation in this constituency needs urgent attention. Yesterday's gathering provided a very visible reminder that political strength is not measured only by the number of big names on a programme; it is also measured by how many ordinary people are willing to show up.
And in Alimosho, the strength of Ife Salako's grassroots support was clearly visible.
The people have spoken with their feet. And such mobilisation strength displayed at the Alimosho General Assembly yesterday was not encouraging.
