The National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN Imota Branch, led by Comrade Adebogun Oriyomi Modupe, on the 10th September 2026 successfully hosted the 2nd Edition of the Imota LCDA Community Development DIALOGUE at Admos Hotel in Imota LCDA
With the theme, "Beyond Dialogue: Accelerating Development Through Visible Results & Accountability," the event marked a major shift from politics to governance in Imota LCDA, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
From Campaign Promises to Performance Report
The 2.0 edition is a direct follow-up to the maiden edition. During Imota Dialogue 1.0, the current Executive Chairman of Imota LCDA, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele attended the platform to campaign for votes.
One year plus into office, the Chairman returned to the same youth platform not to ask for votes, but to give account of his stewardship and present his achievements to the people.
In his address, Hon. Benson reeled out key projects and interventions his administration has carried out in the last one year across education, security, health, and youth empowerment.
Royal, Security and Community Leaders Present
The event had a full house of dignitaries, showing the importance of youth engagement in local governance.
In attendance were:
- HRM OBA (Dr.) Mudashir Ajibade Bakare Agoro, Olufowosetie 2, The Ranodu of Imota - The Royal Father of the land
- Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele - Executive Chairman, Imota LCDA
- The DPO, Imota Police Station - Representing the Security Sector
- Youth leaders, traditional chiefs, and development partners
Key Stakeholders Speak on Development
The dialogue was not a one-man show. It featured robust contributions from critical sectors of the community.
Speakers and participants were drawn from the Education Sector, Security Sector, Religious Bodies, and Students of Imota. Each sector presented challenges, demands, and solutions on how to accelerate development in Imota LCDA.
The atmosphere was interactive, with youths asking direct questions on security, school infrastructure, unemployment, and community welfare.
NYCN Imota Sets the Pace for Youth Accountability
Speaking at the event, the NYCN Imota Branch Coordinator, Comrade Adebogun Oriyomi Modupe stated that the purpose of Dialogue 2.0 was to ensure that leaders remain accountable to the people beyond election season.
"This platform was created so that our leaders can come back and tell us what they have done. We are no longer interested in only promises. We want visible results," he said.
