NYCN IKORODU NORTH INAUGURATES UNITED ODOKEKERE YOUTH

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ikorodu North Local Branch, has successfully inaugurated & sworn in the newly constituted executives of United Odokekere Youth (UOY) as a Community-Based Organization (CBO) under the Council, marking another significant step in strengthening grassroots youth leadership & organization.







The ceremony, held on Saturday, 5th September 2026, brought together community leaders, government representatives, youth leaders & other stakeholders to witness the formal inauguration of the organization & its leadership.


Speaking at the event, the Youth Coordinator, NYCN Ikorodu North, Comr. Jackson Adewale Ayika Ogunkoya, congratulate the organization & charged the executives to embrace unity, responsibility & service, while using their platform to contribute meaningfully to the development of Odokekere Community, Odogunyan Ward and by extension Ikorodu North LCDA. He subsequently invite the Legal Adviser of NYCN Ikorodu North, Comr. Darasimi Adegoke, to administer the Oath of Office to the executives.


Following the oath-taking, the NYCN Ikorodu North Secretary, Comr. Esther Jemiseye Ogunnowo, anchored the presentation of Certificates of Office to the newly sworn-in executives, formally ushering them into their respective leadership responsibilities.


The event was attended by members of the NYCN Ikorodu North Executive Council, including Comr. Oladele Adebajo, Comr. Mazeedah Abdullahi, & Comr. Rasaq Saheed, also present was the NYCN Ward E1, Odogunyan Youth Councillor, Comr. Ilusanmi Oluseye, alongside members of his executive.


The ceremony also featured the presence of distinguished community & government representatives, including the Majority Leader & Councillor Representing Ward E1 Odogunyan, Hon. Banjoko Babatunde Oluwaseun (BBO), Mr. Akiode Oluwaseyi, HOD Agric & Social Services, Ikorodu North LCDA; Mr Kuti, Alhaja Aluko, & other respected stakeholders.


In their goodwill messages, the dignitaries congratulated the new executives & encouraged them to remain united, responsible & committed to youth & community development.


NYCN Ikorodu North remains committed to strengthening youth structures, promoting responsible leadership & fostering meaningful youth participation in community development across the LCDA.
